Shrigley Hall Wedding Photographer

As a wedding photographer, I get to visit lots of amazing places around England and especially some very beautiful wedding venues. One particular venue I’m lucky enough to frequent is Shrigley Hall Hotel. Set in the most stunning part of the Cheshire countryside, just bordering the National Peak District, this Georgian country house really is the epitome of elegance and tranquility. I fondly remember my first ever wedding photography opportunity here and six years later I am still overwhelmed with how beautiful it is as you turn into the winding drive and see the Shrigley Hall Hotel sign under the waterfall.

Wedding Photography full of emotion

Here are some highlights of weddings I’ve previously shot at Shrigley Hall, these photographs are some of my favourites weddings to date.

Perfect wedding venue at Shrigley Hall

Built in 1825, the hall was once home to William Turner an important member of parliament, Shrigley Hall is made up of two builds, the main National Heritage hall and the Romanesque Chapel that was added by the celebrated Architect Philip Tilden. Shrigley Hall has since been converted into a magnificent hotel, spa and golf course perfect for a wedding day. Set in the middle of 262 acres of beautiful Cheshire Countryside the grade II listed buildings stand high up on the hill boasting an impressive view that’s every hobbyist and professional photographer dream of.

Shrigley Hall is not surprisingly a very popular Cheshire wedding venue. Their designated bridal suites are absolutely perfect for the bride and bridesmaids to relax while hair and makeup artists work their magic before the ceremony. These luxurious suites also have stunning views of the sweeping countryside through huge windows lettings lots of stunning natural light into the room making for wonderful airy and bright wedding photos.

The choice of ceremony rooms at this venue is outstanding, with spaces to suit all wedding types and sizes pick between the cosy and elegant Drawing Room for an intimate ceremony, or the Tilden suite for a lavish unique affair with all your family and friends. The William Turner and Ellen Turner Suite offers a traditional and classic wedding space that can keep all of your 200 guests in comfort and style. As the day turns to night by the evening reception everyone is always ready to party!

With a dedicated wedding team on site wedding days are always taken care of. I have been lucky enough to photography many different weddings at Shrigley Hall in style, theme and size and the team have always been so prepared and organised making the day an absolute dream. With several spaces including gardens, grounds, courtyard, lakes and the stunning staircase for photo opportunities the staff and team or so accommodating and helpful in setting everything up.

Before the wedding day bride and bridesmaids are often found relaxing in the tranquil BAZAAR Spa taking some time out together before the big day. The groom and his groomsmen  aren’t left out though, with Shrigley’s champion golf course and the fishing lakes, there’s activities available for everyone. If a quiet evening together sounds better then maybe a peaceful walk around the surrounding grounds or if cycling is more your thing then take some bikes around the neighbouring Peak District to visit National Trust Lyme used as Pride and Prejudice Pemberley.

A wedding venue that is always picture perfect.

While all this is happening you can assured that I will be catching all the moments of your special day. Not harassing guests for faked posed pictures but letting everyone enjoy the day as its supposed to happen, natural and getting all the real emotion and fun. Lots of candids of guests laughing, smiling, crying or anything else that might be happening. Rest assured I will be there for all the formal and informal parts of the day, naturally covering the ceremony, speeches, first dance and cake cut but always being around for any guidance or help that might be needed. I hope that my experience at over one hundred weddings might come in handy if you ever need any guidance during the day.

The photo opportunities at Shirley Hall are endless! Have a quiet stroll by the lakes and get some amazing private and quiet wedding photos that with last a lifetime. Alternatively the impressive and beautiful fountain by the entrance creates some beautiful photos with a mix of spaces all close together. The courtyard also offers a beautiful space to get some group shots and family shots at any time of the day. Known for its amazing sunsets be ready for the evening couple pictures out on the front to get some dazzling wedding shots. You also don’t need to compromise during the changing seasons and unpredictable Cheshire countryside weather, there’s plenty of spaces to get all the group shots on the ornate staircase that can fit all your wedding guests perfectly in the photos. Even the newly decorated rooms in Shrigley are great to use, the hallways, antique fireplaces and bar are just some of the indoor spaces I’ve used to grab some beautiful shots both candidly and during the couples photoshoot.
